Dr. Yvonne Innes is a 1998 graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College. She has practicied in a variety of companion animal hospitals in North America since graduation. Her special interests include internal medicine, diagnostic imaging and pet nutrition. She currently resides in Ridgetown with her husband George and two little boys, Peter and Michael and the beloved family mutt, Corky.
Cathy Carnevale is the manager at Essex Animal Hospital. She earned her Honours B.Comm. degree from the University of Windsor in 1981. She has worked at Essex Animal Hospital since 1994. She lives with her son Robert and her cat, "Kitty".
Laurie Howie is a Veterinary Technician that has been employed at the Essex Animal Hospital since January, 1988. She attended St. Clair College in Windsor, ON and graduated with an Animal Health Technician Diploma in May, 1986. She enjoys spending her spare time out on a golf course, biking or exploring different trails around the county with her black lab mix, Shadow.
Mary Budrewicz attended the Veterinary Technician Program at St. Clair College. After graduation in 1982, she worked as a full time vet tech for 20 years, 16 of those at Essex Animal Hospital. Mary lives in Maidstone with her husband, Steve; their bouvier/coon hound cross, Lucas; their flame-pt Siamese cross, Kobe; and their tabby/white domestic short hair, Griffyn.
Erin Gardner is an RVT and 2006 graduate of St. Clair College's Veterinary Technician Program. Growing up on the shores of Pelee Island, Erin nourished her love of animals by rehabilitating orphaned/injured wildlife. Since working as an RVT, she has discovered a passion for other laboratory sciences. Erin lives with her two adopted cats, Uma & Earl;, her two ferrets, Oliver & Lily; and her boyfriend Jamie.
Dana Howson began her career as a volunteer at the Essex Animal Hospital, which then led to a co-op placement. She graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program at St. Clair College in 2003 and has worked here since then. Dana loves to work with the rehab patients and watch them improve. She lives in Belle River with her fiancé and her 3 dogs. Dana enjoys fishing; riding and competing with her horse Allie; competing with her dogs; and preparing for her Wedding in 2009.
Denise Sheehan graduated as an Animal Health Technician from St. Clair College in 1987 and joined Essex Animal Hospital in June of 1999. Denise conducts Puppy Socialization classes and teaches dog owners how to be "top dog" in their home, using dog psychology in our Leadership classes. Along with their 4 children, Denise and her husband Ross have 3 dogs, 3 cats, a ferret, a budgie and a fish.
Shelly Lepain is an animal Care Aide at the Essex Animal Hospital. She has worked in the animal field since 1987. She is excited about the new challenges our Rehab Centre has to offer. She and her family enjoy their two furry friends Jazz and Gus.
Jodi McIntosh has worked at the Essex Animal Hospital since 1988. She is our head receptionist and in 2005 she became Certified in Pet Massage through the Pet Massage Institue in Toledo Ohio and Certified in Water Massage in 2007. Jodi has 2 adult children. She lives with the love of her life Don.
Gayle Huszti has been an employee at the Essex Animal Hospital since 1990. On a typical day you may find Gayle answering phones, assisting our veterinarians and technicians, walking dogs, cleaning, restocking or cuddling one of our boarders. Gayle is passionate about animal rights and pet overpopulation and devotes much of her time and resources to worthy animal causes and stray animals.
Amy Dumouchelle was born and raised in Windsor, and just completed her Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph in Dec/07. She enjoys educating clients to help them take the best care of their pets, especially in the area of nutrition. During her time off, she rides and trains her horse, Taylor, in Essex, for eventing competitions. Amy lives with her parents and guinea pig Stella.
Sheyenne Richardson is a kennel assistant and has been a part of the Essex Animal Hospital for two years. She has a passion for animals and upon completion of high school, she plans to enroll in a Veterinary Technician course at St. Clair College; then Zoology at the University of Guelph. Sheyenne is owned by one royal python; six birds; one cat; one dwarf rabbit; and one beta fish.
Heidi Glasmann is a kennel assistant and has been a part of the Essex Animal Hospital since 2004. She hopes to use the compassion and care she has learned to someday become a teacher. She shares her home with her two feline friends, Louis and Scarlet.
Jessica Masse, a student at Essex District High School, completed her co-op at the Essex Animal Hospital in Sept/07. Passionate about animals her whole life, this opportunity was perfect for her. She continued on as a part time employee and maintains her love and devotion towards animals. The staff has made a tremendous effect in Jessica's learning experience and life skills. She enjoys playing a variety of sports to stay active, hanging out with friends and playing with her dog "Yukon."
